The History of Kitchener Aero Avionics Ltd.

Building a reliable foundation

Kitchener Aero Avionics Ltd. has been serving the special needs of general and business aviation customers since 1977.

Our clients range from busy recreational flyers, to corporate operators, commercial/regional airlines and special mission customers.

When we established our firm, we worked with an emphasis on relationship building that turned customers into long-term clients.  We have grown one client at a time, based on simple philosophies:

  • Never compromise quality or efficiency for time or cost
  • Don't squander downtime
  • Deliver reliable avionics installations on time and on budget

The organization has grown to become one of the most respected and trusted providers of avionics sales, service and installations in Canada.

Our core business is installation and certifications of avionics systems.  We perform avionics modification programs on about 150 aircraft per year and we are an Authorized Dealer and Service Centre for all of the major avionics manufacturers.  In addition to sales and installation we are one of Canada's premiere avionics repair facilities, with repair capabilities for most general aviation, corporate and commuter avionics systems.

In Memory of Barry Aylward April 26, 1957 to March 21, 2017

Life is a Highway “Life’s like a road that you travel on… When there’s one day here and the next day gone…” Tom Cochrane

It is with a sad heart that share the news of Barry's sudden and unexpected passing on March 21, 2017.

Barry Bryan Aylward was the President and Founder of Kitchener Aero Avionics (CYKF) and Mid-Canada Mod-Center (CYYZ). More importantly he was a son, brother, friend, and colleague. Barry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Thank you to all our friends, customers, suppliers, AEA members, current and past employees for your support during this difficult time.
